A. Auto Accidents
Injuries caused in automobile or truck accidents are painful and often long-lasting. If the accident was caused by the other driver, you are entitled to receive money to compensate you for medical expenses, lost wages, and for your pain and suffering. (Pain and suffering are the physical and emotional injuries you received because of the accident.)

If the other driver has insufficient insurance, or is not insured at all, you may be entitled to receive money from your own insurance company. Furthermore, in some situations there may be other insurance policies that provide benefits to you. Only by discussing all the facts of your injury can we advise you of the applicable coverage's available to compensate you.

We will help you determine if you are entitled to compensation, how much, and from whom. To protect your rights, contact us immediately after an accident. The decisions that must be made immediately after an accident are very important, and can greatly affect how your claims are resolved.

-Medical Negligence

Many believe that malpractice always involves a physician, and it frequently does. Malpractice however, can also be caused by others, such as nurses and dentists. Malpractice is caused by health care providers when they fail to follow a "standard of care," and that failure proximately causes an injury to a patient.

All malpractice cases are complex. All are governed by a very strict statute of limitations. Because malpractice cases are complex, and because different standards apply to different professions and different limitation periods govern when lawsuits must be filed, it is imperative that you seek help as soon as you believe you have been injured.

-Product Liability

Machines and products are helpful, and often necessary, but sometimes they are not designed well and cause injury. Other times a well designed product or machine causes injury when a good design is ignored, and the machine or product is then negligently made. If a product is "defective" because it was not well designed or because it was negligently made, and the defective product causes injury, the injured person may be entitled to compensation.

There are many legal theories in Washington under which manufacturers and sellers of defective products may be liable for injuries caused to our residents. Furthermore, federal law may also apply. The statutes and case law developed in Washington and federal courts and legislatures are complex and numerous.

If injured by a product-- whether a machine, a pill, a toy, or for that matter any product-- the law may demand that the responsibility for your injury be borne by the manufacturer or supplier of the product.

Call to discuss how you were injured, and by what product. We will answer your questions. There is no charge for any initial consultation.

-Wrongful Death

Loss of life. Although no amount of money can compensate a family for the loss of a loved one, Washington law recognizes the loss to the family members and provides redress to protect the spouse, children and parents of the deceased.

To help the family, damages may be awarded for, among other things, loss of support, loss of services, loss of society, and of course mental anguish.

In our civil justice system, the law demands that anyone responsible for causing the death of another be legally responsible to assist the remaining family members. Our system of civil justice does not permit the taking of "an eye for an eye". We do not take the law into our own hands, nor do we seek vengeance. Instead, we strive to find ways to assist those left behind. And that includes obtaining compensation to economically provide for the remaining family members.

Whatever the situation, talk to us. We will do our best to help.

-Construction Site Accidents

Unfortunately, working men and women are frequently injured on the job, usually in a construction site accident environment.  In some situations, the injured worker frequently has a claim under the worker's compensation laws of the state of Washington and against any third party not employed by his employer, whose negligence caused the worker's injuries.  We frequently handle construction site accidents and injuries for workers and coordinate with the Department of Labor & Industries, private insurers, or private attorneys regarding worker's compensation claims.

If you were injured on the job and don't know whether or not you have a third party claim or a worker's compensation claim, please contact us.  There is no fee for initial consultations or phone consultations on these types of matters.

-Appellate Review

Appellate Review: Appeals take place either at the conclusion of a trial or after the entry of a final order on an issue. Most appeals are heard before the Court of Appeals, but some issues can be appealed directly to the Washington Supreme Court. The difference between a trial and an appeal is that an appellate court does not re-try facts; only procedural issues can be raised in an appeal.
